Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being awarded 10/10 marks in an Olympic event. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships and finished 13th. In the following year, she won the title of champion. In her very first international competition in 1972, she won the event having won three golds. At her first competition as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world who used a double backwards salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the entertainment business began during her teens when she began doing figure skating with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer when she was in her teenage years. She started her career performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
